Bay View’s hip factor attracts new housing options

Kinnickinnic Avenue development

Running through the heart of Bay View is Kinnickinnic Avenue, where vintage shops, foodie-favorite restaurants and hip bars are transforming the South Side Milwaukee neighborhood. Before 2016, Bay View’s residential real estate market was mostly duplexes and single-family homes.

Now, apartment complexes are beginning to reshape the avenue’s look. New Land Enterprises is building a six-story, 144-apartment complex on the former site of Hamburger Mary’s. The $21 million development follows other smaller apartment projects that include the 69-unit Vue Apartment at 2202 S. Kinnickinnic Ave. and the 291-unit Stitchweld at 2141 S. Robison Ave.
