Ten years ago, East Washington Avenue wasn’t exactly a desirable part of Madison, let alone prime place to live. But today, real estate on East Wash is hot.
“It’s definitely started to gentrify,” said 27-year-old East Washington resident, Mike Scott. “There’s a new hotel, a couple high-rise apartments and some trendy bars. The Capitol district had started to creep down East Wash, but there’s still room for growth because all of that is just within six blocks of the Capitol.”
Lyric Apartments, Galaxie High Rise Apartments & Factory District Apartments are among new high rises on the block.
