Mark your calendar to celebrate Milwaukee’s Hispanic Heritage in style at the UMOS Mexican Independence Day Festival on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 2701 S. Chase Ave.
This annual celebration – featuring live music, carnival rides, food vendors and lucha libres (Mexican-style wrestling at its best) – is guaranteed free fun for the whole family. The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. followed by the festival from 12-8 p.m.
The event is sponsored by UMOS, a nonprofit advocacy organization that – since 1965 – has been providing programs and services to improve the lives of folks from all ethnic, racial and linguistic backgrounds.
