September: Supper clubs – an enduring dining experience

The month of September took readers of The Wisconsin 100 across the state with their dinner plates. One of our favorite articles shined a spotlight on the quintessential Wisconsin dining experience: supper clubs.

Dating back to the 1920s, these restaurants have stood as defining staples in the Midwest for generations. Not only home to fare consisting of prime rib, fish fries and brandy old-fashioneds, supper clubs stir memories of a bygone era. Today, there are more than 300 along rivers, lakes and other out-of-the-way places from Bonduel to Burlington.
