Middleton native Skylar Stecker pursues pop stardom

by Chris Butsch

After just one performance during a school talent show at West Middleton Elementary, third-grader Skylar Stecker knew she wanted to be a professional singer. Six months later, Skylar and her family relocated to Los Angeles so she could pursue her dream. At 13, Skylar released her first album “This Is Me.”

“Since then, I’ve been touring, writing songs and continuing to put out music.”

The youngest artist to land three hits on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart, Skylar is currently working on her next album. Despite her commercial success, she remains loyal to Wisconsin.

“I’m a cheesehead for life.”
