Shuyi Wong, 24, is a graduating senior at Marquette University from Malaysia. The hefty doses of snow and freezing temperatures presented some personal challenges but did not stop her growing affection for Milwaukee.
Scholarships drew Wong to Marquette, but she stayed for the strong academic experience and student services. An internship at the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee showed her the city’s dedication to growth and the potential for her generation, which led to her decision to stay.
After graduation, Wong plans to pursue a career in public relations and make use of her minor in German studies.
