The Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival rides on

by

Starting with 27 cyclists conquering an unknown terrain at its inaugural race in 1983, the 36th annual Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival, promoted by Life Time Athletic Events, now prepares to continue one of the nation’s best fat tire events in September.

Rolling terrain carves a beautiful yet challenging course for the 2,100 cyclists participating in the 40-mile Chequamegon trail event, with another 1,000 participants competing in the Short and Fat 16-mile race.

With local Hayward and Cable communities providing volunteer teams, an official presenting sponsor and other support, the event has become a silent sports mainstay.
