At Kapco Park, college kids are pursuing their dreams both on the field and off.
Every season, a new crop of college students buzzes around the Lakeshore Chinooks stadium, running game day operations. General Manager Shawn Kison deploys 40 to 50 interns to promote the game and entertain fans.
“The idea is to give students studying sports management and other sports-related majors the chance for hands-on training,” he said.
Six former interns currently work in the Chinooks front office, while others have gone on to jobs with the Brewers, Bucks, Admirals and minor league teams around the country.
