There’s been no shortage of major developments near Kenosha of late, but one overlooked success story lies near the shore of Lake Michigan, where downtown Kenosha is currently in the midst of an era of business growth and increased housing options in the historic neighborhood.
With new, varied businesses opening (there were 356 businesses in the district in 2017, an increase from 337 in 2013), downtown Kenosha attracts people from the Chicago and Milwaukee markets seeking a smaller community. The site of the state’s only Metra rail station also gives visitors an easy way to see what the neighborhood offers.
