When the Port Plaza Mall closed in 2006, downtown Green Bay was left searching for an answer. Once headquarters for the Green Bay Packers and home to multiple championship celebrations in its streets and hotels, downtown became little more than a thoroughfare between east and west Green Bay.
With a history defined by a devastating fire, rebirth and reinvention, Milwaukee’s Historic Third Ward has seen plenty of good times and bad. It has seen grocers, factories, stagnation, revitalization and now, today, booming growth.
