One day I added up my insurance bills. Then I started a company.

by Jan Schroder

As a young adult, I thought it would be a good idea to look at home expenses. House, car, food, insurance … wait, insurance?

I added up the monthly payments for insuring our car, home, family and business. I multiplied by 20 years and that nearly equaled … the cost of a new house or a car. I began researching insurance costs and companies. Then I started my own.

I tell people our company, RightSure, is technology firm in the insurance space. For starters, we figured out how to close an auto insurance policy over the phone in 90 seconds.
