As a student at UW-Madison, I received the opportunity to apply my political interest as an intern in the Wisconsin State Assembly. As an intern, I received a behind-the-scenes look at the day-to-day operations of state government and our elected officials.
Whether I was discussing newly proposed legislation, greeting students from the local elementary school during their Capitol visit or responding to constituent emails, each day was exciting and new. My experience at the Capitol gave me a new appreciation for our democratic system and the different ways we can all fulfill our civic duties.
