It might be a dirty job, but work done by the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) is focused on making water clean again. In 2017, MMSD cleaned and returned 72 billion gallons of previously dirty water to Lake Michigan, cleaning 99.999998 percent of every drop of water coming through the regional sewer system.

Under the leadership of Executive Director Kevin Shafer, MMSD has become a force for good in global water initiatives by starting on the local level. Freshcoast 740 represents another initiative to make water sustainability an option for anyone.
