New arena entertainment district shoots for local feel

by
downtown Milwaukee

The Bucks understand the importance of providing a Milwaukee feel to the upcoming arena entertainment district, set to open in spring 2019.

The district will include a public plaza connecting the new arena to restaurants, bars and shops on Fourth Street; a live block will stretch between Old World Third Street businesses and the Bucks’ new home.

To achieve authenticity, the Bucks promise at least 25 percent of the district’s tenants will be local. The team also plans to incorporate Wisconsin artwork in and around the arena, including 10 to 12 fire hydrants hand-painted by a local artist/fan.
