How downtown Green Bay redeveloped its past

redeveloped Green Bay

When the Port Plaza Mall closed in 2006, downtown Green Bay was left searching for an answer. Once headquarters for the Green Bay Packers and home to multiple championship celebrations in its streets and hotels, downtown became little more than a thoroughfare between east and west Green Bay.

Thanks to a local emphasis on its revival, developments over the last decade-plus – like Schreiber Foods’ headquarters on the mall’s old footprint, new mixed-use properties and redevelopment of shuttered industrial buildings into area mainstays like Titletown Brewing Company – show downtown is getting back to its roots as the city’s hub.
