Biggest: Dane County Farmers Market – With an 18-year waiting list, it is Wisconsin’s largest producer-only farmers market.

Oldest: West Allis Farmers Market – It’s up for debate, but this market, established in 1919, claims to be the oldest.

Unique: Fondy Farmers Market – This market is known for its healthy food advocacy through heritage.

“I’ve been to a lot of farmers markets in America and most are like cookie cutters, you see the same vendors,” said Kristin Krokowski, Wisconsin Farmers Market Association. “But our farmers markets come together so organically that they have a special reflection of their different communities.”
